Product Overview:
1. BS 476-6 is a test method for measuring the flame propagation characteristics of materials, which is mainly used to evaluate the fire performance of walls and ceilings, and gives test results. As an indicator of flame propagation.
2. DURING THE TEST, THE SPECIMEN IS EXPOSED TO THE TUBULAR TORCH, AND THE HEAT RELEASE OF THE LAMP IS 530 J/S. After 5 minutes of starting the test, the power was reduced to 1500 watts and the power supply was not changed until the experiment was completed, for a total test time of 20 minutes.
3. In order to evaluate the flame propagation characteristics of the material tested in BS476-6, the thermocouple continuously recorded the chimney temperature and room temperature difference and compared it with a calibration curve, which was made in the same measurement according to the specified density of the asbestos cement board.
4. The temperature difference between the two curves measured at the same time was compared. During the first three minutes of the test, the temperature difference is taken every 30 seconds, and for the next 4-10 minutes, every other minute. In the last 11-20 minutes, the temperature difference values are taken every two minutes, and the flame diffusion index for these three stages is calculated according to the formula.
5. I is the value of the sum of the flame spread indices of the three periods. The higher the value of I, the lower the flame retardant of the material, grade 0 material I≤12.
Reference Standards:
BS 476 Part 6 A1:2009: Standard for flame retardant and fire protection testing of building materials;
GB/T 17658-1999: Flame retardant wood burning performance test“Fire propagation test method”
