1, Compliant with standards:
A new type of testing equipment is developed based on the technical conditions specified in the national standard AC-25-01R2, Part 25 of the Civil Aviation Regulations of China, Appendix F, Flammability of Seat Cushions. This experiment is aimed at limiting the evaluation of the smoke generation performance of aircraft seat cushions on flame propagation and smoke release.
2, Applicable scope:
Suitable for measuring the occurrence of fires in the cabin after a simulated aircraft crash, limiting flame propagation by limiting the burning length of seat cushions, and studying the heat and smoke release of seats by limiting the combustion weight loss rate of seat cushions. It is also used to evaluate the smoking performance of seat cushions under specified conditions.
3, Technical parameters:
1, Test box: The front door is equipped with a viewing window. The material is made of stainless steel plate.
Internal dimensions of combustion chamber: wide × deep × 1400 high × 1000 × 1600 (This size is for reference only)
2,Sample holder: made of 3mm thick angle steel and flat steel, all made of stainless steel. The leg length of the fixing bracket is 305 ± 3mm.
3, Sample requirements:
The sample consists of a seat cushion and a seat cushion. Three samples are required for experimental sampling.
The seat sample is 457 ± 3mmW × 508 ± 3mmL× 102 ± 3mm thick;
The cushion test is 457 ± 3mmW × 635 ± 3mmH × Thickness 51 ± 3mm.
Combustion system: composed of a stabilizing valve, filter, regulating valve flow meter, and burner.
1)The sample burner is an improved spray gun type;
2)A nozzle with a spray angle of 80 °;
3)Burner cone: installed at the end of the nozzle, 305mm long, 152mm high opening, and 280mm wide;
4)Burner fuel pressure regulating valve: adjust the fuel flow rate to 0.126L/min;
5)The flame application time for experimental combustion is 2 minutes.
4, Judgment requirements:
At least two-thirds of the burnt length of the sample group shall not reach the edge of the seat cushion opposite the burner from the side near the burner, that is, the burnt length shall not exceed 432mm (17 inches).
The average percentage weight loss rate of the sample shall not exceed 10%, and in addition, the weight loss rate of at least two-thirds of the sample groups shall not exceed 10%.
5, Equipment features:
The entire instrument consists of a closed test chamber, kerosene burner, combustion system, igniter, test fixture, heat flow meter testing system, temperature measuring instrument, and testing software; The circuit is developed using a microcontroller, with high technical content and stable performance. This instrument is mainly suitable for the flammability test of aircraft seat cushion. The main components of the sample are the combination of foam core, floating material, fire blocking material and decorative cover. If the seat cushion and cushion use different material combinations, each material combination must be used to form a complete sample group for the test.
