ISO 5658 Flame Spread Tester

The flame spread tester ISO 5658-2 is developed and produced according to the ISO 5658-2 standard, and meets the requirements of IMO FTP Code Resolution A. 653 (16) and ASTM E 1317. The Shenzhen Demerson Flame Spread Tester ISO 5658-2 is used to measure the lateral flame spread performance of building products. The flame spread performance/speed of flame spread can evaluate the fire and flame retardant performance of materials.
The device radiates heat through a gas radiation plate and uses an imported heat flux meter to calibrate the radiation heat. The sample is ignited by a mixed gas burner to test the combustion of the material under certain radiation heat conditions; Expose the sample to an area with a clearly calibrated radiation flux, measure the ignition time, flame spread, and final extinction time. The test sample is placed in a vertical position, adjacent to the radiation plate, and exposed to an area with clearly calibrated radiation flux. The ignition flame approaches the test sample but does not come into contact with it, and the heated end of the sample is ignited by the evaporating gas on the surface.
After ignition, record the development of the flame front and the time it takes for the flame front to burn horizontally on the surface of the sample to reach various calibration distances. Further testing the relevant parameters of the material, including ignition heat, sustained combustion heat, critical flow rate, average heat of sustained combustion, total heat release, etc.
