Flame Spread Tester ISO 5658-2 is developed and manufactured in accordance with ISO5658-2 standard and meets the requirements of IMO FTP Code Resolution A. 653(16) and ASTM E 1317. Shenzhen Demerson Flame Spread Tester ISO 5658-2 is used to determine the lateral flame propagation performance of building products, and the flame propagation performance/flame propagation speed can evaluate the fire retardant performance of materials.

The device radiates heat through a gas radiant plate and uses an imported heat flux meter to calibrate the radiant heat, and ignites the specimen through a mixed gas burner, thereby testing the combustion of the material in the case of a certain radiant heat; The sample is exposed to an area where the radiation flux is clearly calibrated, and the ignition time, the degree of flame spread, and the final extinguishing time are measured. The test specimen is placed in a vertical position, adjacent to the radiant plate, and exposed to an area where the radiant flux is clearly calibrated. The ignition flame is close to the test specimen but does not touch the test specimen, and the heated end of the sample is ignited by the evaporative gas on the surface.

After ignition, the development of the flame front is recorded, and the time elapsed by the flame front to burn horizontally on the sample surface to each calibrated distance is recorded. The materials are then tested for ignition heat, continuous combustion heat, critical flow, average heat of continuous combustion, total heat release and other related parameters.
